Sherry's Scoop

Charity Bike Ride

I am riding my bike to raise money for Shannon Angel Fund and Hendrick League House which have been instrumental in mine and my husband's cancer recovery. I am designating my mileage from September 1- December 31, 2016. I was originally determined to ride to Denver, Colorado, but due to concerns of family and friends, I have changed my plans and am doing the ride around this area (San Angelo/Abilene). I keep a log of my mileage, and will use our Facebook page (see link at the bottom of the page) to post my rides and mileage regularly. I am making a challenge everyone to give. I am determined to ride 800 miles in as small amount of time as I can. I plan to ride more than that in the total four month period, but do not know how many total I will be able to accomplish. You can do a single donation or many. You can do a per mile amount or you can limit it to a total amount, ie: $1.00 a mile not to exceed $20, $200 or $2000. No matter the amount you are able to give, please join me in my effort to support these wonderful charities and share this page to challenge your friends and family to give. Thank you for your support!

Update 9/21/16: Sherry was able to complete a ride from Shannon in San Angelo, Texas to Abilene, Texas on Monday (9/19)! Wow, that's just over 90 miles! A big thanks to her Dad, Dwayne Overman for following her in a vehicle on her trek. Here is a clip from KSAN about her fundraising goals: http://www.conchovalleyhomepage.com/news/news-connection/sherrys-bike-ride

Final update: Thank you for all of your support over the past several months. With your generous support, Sherry was able to raise $2423 for these charities. She invites you to continue to support Hendrick League House and Shannon Angel Fund as these funds have been so tremendously helpful in her fight against cancer. God bless you all!

I'm a survivor, saved by God's grace and mercy!

As a survivor of two broken necks, a broken back and most recently cancer, I feel it is my call to help others facing similar situations.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenvever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perserverance. Let perserverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1: 2-4
